About us

Youth in My’ is a non-profit organisation, which works to provide access to education for Burmese children and young people.

Schools in Myanmar have been closed for 3 years. First because of the COVID crisis, then because of the military coup on 1 February 2021. In fact, many teachers refuse to teach principles that are against their values. Some parents also refuse to send their children back to school because of possible indoctrination. Against this backdrop, several children have found themselves refugees in Thailand; others, often students, are trying to follow online courses.

Our partner : Tonrak Ananda Marga School

Since 2005, the Tonrak Ananda Marga School has been welcoming displaced children and teenagers, now mainly from Myanmar (now Burma), but also pupils from Thailand. The school, located in Sangklaburi (Thailand), offers quality education and essential support to young people who have been forced to flee their home countries because of conflict or persecution.

Since Burma took power, the military junta has closed many schools. This has led to the massive displacement of refugees in Thailand. The school is therefore affected, causing a lack of space within the establishment and they need help.

Current project

Support for the construction of several classrooms in Thailand

The Tonrak Ananda Marga School in Sangklaburi, Thailand, is raising funds to build several classrooms for the Burmese children it takes in. The school is currently short of space following the arrival of a large number of Burmese children.
